Why The Government Should Still Financially Support State Universities?

It's really sad that our Congress has decided to cut the budget of our state universities and colleges.  All my employees now come from state universities and they are hardworking, smart and have always shown initiative in their work.  I believe state universities have a big role in filling the gap since not everyone can afford the tuition fees of private universities.  Those who have the intellectual capability but not the budget should still be given the chance to pursue their dreams in life - and that's where the state universities and colleges come into the picture.  So budget cuts for education - at whatever level - should never happen!  There should be other things that are of less importance that should be slashed.
