Another witness in Maguindanao massacre killed

The Ampatuans must really think they're Allah. With the way they treat their fellow Muslims, they sentence a person to death just because those poor people go against their wishes.  Oh well, justice moves ever so slowly here in the Philippines, and I think it would take Allah's justice for the aggrieved victims to have to rely on so that they can maintain their sanity.

Who do we have to pray to just so these pigs get the death penalty?

Making a ‘Breakout Nation’ can be Aquino’s historic legacy

I actually did not vote for P-Noy, seeing him as just another member of our elite, but with the way the economy is going, I am glad that he took the cudgels of our government in such a crucial time of our history.  Sana tuloy-tuloy na.  The path is not easy but with the international community perceiving us as a breakout nation - we only have ourselves to blame if we don't step up and make things really work for our country.  Our people have toiled long enough in servitude, it would be a pity if the next generation will continue to do that.

Mindanao’s new lands of promise

OMG!  I have actually been to these places!  Seriously?  They're booming na right now!  That's pretty cool and I hope tuloy-tuloy na ang pag-abanse nila.  Bisitahin ko kaya ulit ang mga lugar na ito!  It would be fun to do that!  The last time I visited them was 16 years ago!  Imagine that!  Super tagal na!

Pangilinan, Ang absence on PH billionaires’ list questioned

I too am surprised!  It's either Forbes magazine should practice more prudence with their criteria or both Pangilinan and Ang are just hiding their real wealth.  Well, of course, they have the right to do that but I just hope they're paying the right taxes, since instead of the BIR running after small time taxpayers, this two should net them a lot!  I also can't see how the other billionaires finances are transparent while this two layer it with so much creative BS.   For tax purposes ba or what?

Philippine peso expected to depreciate to 45 to a dollar by yearend

Finally!  Some good news for dollar earners like me!  We have been languishing suffering an exchange rate that has gone down to around US$39 (for our Paypal transactions) so this is definitely welcome news for us.  A year of US$45 to a dollar would certainly help our cash flow a bit!

Air passenger rights up for review

I was only a convert to low-cost carriers just recently so this review of our rights is something that I'm interested in, although experience-wise, I know that rebooking flights in these airlines are well, super hopeless!

Hands off the QC Park

Being a Quezon City resident myself, I am alarmed by this news that the local government will have the opportunity  to have the Ninoy Aquino Wildlife and Park.  It would be a pity if that area is transformed into one huge concrete jungle.

What are they doing to the QC Park?

Pacquiao Fight Fixed (I thought so too.....)

I am not a boxing expert and I don't even like boxing but I was there with my Mama watching Pacquiao fight Bradley last Sunday - and I don't see how Bradley could've won over Manny.  I mean, where and how and did they even check the computer box that counted the punches?  I too, like millions of fans and not-really-fans (like me) were left befuddled by the judges' decision.

Because of that, I really thought that the game was fixed.  Of course, not by Pacquiao or Bradley, but by Arum and those who stand to gain a lot from a rematch!  I guess the Las Vegas operators really want to milk Manny and Bradley for all they're worth!  Terribly sickening!  And that Manny fought like a real champion  that he is - it was really a great injustice that the judges said he lost. If I could only say bo-hoo to the high heavens, I would!

Oh well, let's just see how all these pans out.

Filipino pedicab, jeepney debut in ‘Bourne’ clip

Hollywood certainly works very fast huh!  Was it only a few months ago that Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton were here shooting the latest Bourne installment - and now the movie is already finished - with the trailer making the rounds worldwide!  I haven't actually seen it yet but based on what I've read - it certainly is something many Filipinos will be looking forward to watching!

Mubarak, Egypt's dictator sentenced to life in prison

Wow!  Egypt has done what our country has not done yet - sentence to life imprisonment a corrupt president.  Well, at least this shows that it can be done - if the system allows it.  The recent impeachment of Corona shows that we can weed out the misfits one misfit at a time. Now, let's see if we can go all the way to President Arroyo.  She has so many corruption cases against, I think it's time now for the public to know the truth.
