I am proud to say that the Philippines is one of the best places in the world to be a woman - and that statement is backed by the survey done by the World Economic Forum on the 2011 Global Gender Gap. In fact, we are currently ranked #8 behind Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, New Zealand and the Philippines. See, we are even ranked higher than the US, the UK and France!
All the countries were ranked based on four categories: educational attainment, health and survival, economic participation and opportunity and political empowerment.
We actually got a perfect score for educational attainment! Women here have access to education and get exactly the same opportunities to study in all the levels of schooling.
