Lawbreakers and The Bank Secrecy Act

To an ordinary citizen like me who has no time to watch the impeachment trial and just rely on the soundbites I receive from media, one of the things that struck me was how lawbreakers use the Bank Secrecy Act to hide their hidden wealth.  And I feel that is very unfair - and that the law should be amended to make sure people who acquired wealth by stealing from the people - be punished.

Sometimes I don't get the Corona camp.  I am not even a fan of Ninoy but the way Corona conducts himself is really unbecoming of a Chief Justice.  Why would he not want the people to find out how much money he has in his foreign accounts? If he has nothing to hide, then just open it!  By stopping it, people, like me, get other ideas!  That maybe, he really has hidden wealth which he got from the Arroyos.  What other conclusion can we think about, knowing fully well how close the two were!

Also, he shouldn't release use that spin where he accuses our president of being crazy.  A little respect for the Office of the President should be given.  P-Noy was elected, Corona should remember that.  Corona was just appointed, by a president who had lost all public support when her term ended!  So in the eyes of the people, he is in a way, a little bit lower than Aquino.

Well, let's just see how the next chapter of the impeachment trial unfolds.  For now, as I see it, the public thinks Corona has really something to hide.
