Time to Get Your Comelec Voter's ID

Public service announcement lang guys!
The Comelec is currently processing your voters ID so if wala pa kayo, please go to the Comelec office of your City Hall.
If you are in the voters list already, it doesn't mean na automatic na may voters ID na kayo. You have to go to the Comelec office to have your picture taken as well as your fingerprint scanning.
Better to go now kasi wala pang pila. The deadline will be in November next year so there's enough time for you to do your civic duty, lalo na if you are paying your taxes.
Sayang naman if rant lang kayo ng rant sa FB and sa blogs niyo about the national issues, tapos you can't vote pala.
Mama got her biometrics and her picture taken today in the Comelec office of my BFF, Mabel C. Villanueva.
Btw, if you are a QC resident, and you want to be reinstated in the voters list kasi natanggal na kayo or you want to transfer your voting precinct to QC, just PM para I can refer you to my friends who work in the Comelec of QC.
It's easier to make the changes now kasi computerized na lahat and wala pa yong mga hakot crowds, di pa kasi deadline.
Basta QC-related lang ang voting problems niyo ha, otherwise, you might have to go to the Comelec office of your City Hall.

‘Mad killers’ gun down 5 in QC – police

‘Mad killers’ gun down 5 in QC – police

This is probably the most disturbing news of Manila that I've read in years!

I've always thought serial killers and spree killers were just by-products of the more materialistic and highly individualistic Western societies, but apparently, it has arrived in Metro Manila.  Crimes like this are common in America where there's a mass shooting almost every week, but for it to happen in Manila?

Dahil ba sa sobrang hirap ng buhay ngayon na we have created sociopaths in our midst who just shoot people for no reason at all?

Sociopaths pa naman have no conscience and show no remorse or regret.  Mother Mary, please protect us from these monsters!  I

Religion vs. Science? Does One Have to Win Over the Other?

Muntik na naman ako mag-raise ng hand sa sermon ni Father kahapon kasi he was making some comment about how religion should take precedence over science and that religion should rule over science kasi nga raw sa science, they have to prove themselves pa while sa religion daw, no need na, kasi Word of God daw yun.

Andun na actually ako, medyo dangerous lang yung statement niya na whatever religion says should be followed kasi historically Father, andami nang masasamang tao who use 'religion' to cause pain and misery to other people. Yung Crusades is one. Did they really have to kill every single Muslim that was on their path in the name of God - kahit bata or babae? Yung mga polygamist na Christians in Utah. They say to the women, you have to have sex with me kasi I am God and you are a vessel (parausan in other words, pero syempre, God daw siya e, so sunod naman ang mga lolang tanga!).

Kasi ang gospel kahapon was about faith, naisip ko tuloy, baka you mean faith Father, not religion. Faith in God can take precedence over science especially in some things that cannot be explained. Even siguro in my life, my faith in God may take precedence over science pag kenakailangan!!

Aswang in a Grimm Episode!

I finally saw Grimm's 'aswang' episode! Delayed reaction lang but still, finally we are not invisible in contemporary American pop culture.

Sana more inroads pa could be made so our community can contribute more to Hollywood's creative ideas. A horror theme is always a good start!

Rockin' Rak of Aegis!

The PETA has always come out with something interesting these past few seasons, this year, being the musical Rak of Aegis, with music coming from the extensive discography of the popular local band.

Congratulations talaga to whoever is choosing their list of plays and musical every season, because they have struck this wise balance of having crowd-pleasers, compulsory school play material and that random local difficult material!  Last year, it was Bona that filled their theaters.  The other year, it was Care Divas.  This year, it's Rak of Aegis.

Performance-wise, the cast gave a veritable tour-de-force!! Everyone was just plain outstanding!  This was the first time also that I've seen the husband and wife team of Isay Alvarez and Robert Sena perform and no wonder they were Miss Saigon cast members!  World-class talaga sila magperform!

The main lead who had to sing the outrageously high notes of Aegis' songs was also very good, and bow talaga ako sa kanya!  I mean, you would have to vocalize really really well, if you want to hit those high notes!

And they don't do it the David-Foster-Whitney Houston way where it starts quietly building into a throbbing crescendo.  The songs of Aegis are so in your face, first note pa lang, mataas na agad!

So for these actors to do it twice a day, good luck talaga sa vocal chords nila!

The production design was also very good!  I loved it!  I love the water canal in the middle and that sequence where they sang one of Aegis' more popular songs and then the rain comes down!!  It was fantastic to watch!  I also loved that bubbles bit!  Very creative!  Tapos right choice of song pa!

I really wished I were more familiar with their songs because everyone on my right, were really enjoying themselves because I think they really knew Aegis' songs!

I found the story a bit heavy though and it hit so close to home, it kinda dampened my mood a bit.  I strongly suggest you find that Aegis CD that you have (I know you have one!  How else can you know Basang Basa sa Ulan and that Halik song!)
