I was really happy to read that the Philippine economy has grown at a rate of 7.8% during the first quarter of 2013. I guess the elections played a part in this - which is ok. I just really hope that this is something we can sustain.
Economy grows a stunning 7.8%
Well, it's the same old people and same family names that dominated the top 12 of the 2013 senatorial elections. Not that it surprised me. I was one of those people who decided to vote the unknowns just to give them a chance but I guess the majority still opted for the 'popular' people. Still, I will continue to vote, until the day we realize that voting for senators is not a popularity contest.......
I
didn't know Rizal wrote in French until today! I was browsing through
this book in the National Historical Commission booth in the Dia Del
Libro today and I chanced upon this Rizal compilation with a story
written in French. We all know he's a polyglot but to actually see his
writings, just really amazes me!
Unlike most people we usually just stay in during Holy Week here in Manila. I've always believed it's the best place to stay during this long weekend. The city is so empty of people and traffic is so light - it's like being in nirvana even just for a few days! Sometimes I wish people would continue to stay away and just stay in the place where they went! That's wishful thinking of course..................
